Anyone else love long weekends? I feel like I’m gaining an extra week instead of a day sometimes! And this past long weekend, I spent upstate in The Catskills with my girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays (they are a day apart!)

Located about two and half hours outside of the city, and about 15 minutes from Woodstock, our amazing cabin was located in Saugerties, NY and it could not have been a more perfect home for our long weekend away!

The house had four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, along with the one of the most beautiful kitchen I had ever seen! A huge living room with a couch that fit all 8 of us comfortably, an adorable reading nook and a huge pool in the backyard (we will be back in the summer to try that!)

We were looking for a low key weekend so we spent our days sleeping in, drinking wine, playing games and eating lots of sweets (can you blame us?) It all felt like the perfect combination for a relaxing and fun girls trip!

We actually did not do too much exploring because it snowed on us! On Saturday as we were heading to dinner and to explore, the roads were so bad we had to stay home! We did not complain though because we had planned to do a make your own taco bar the next night and were perfectly happy playing more games and shoving our faces full of tacos! The only thing didn't have were the margs!

On Sunday we explored around our house a bit, including the run-down horse barn next door, played so many hilarious rounds of "Telestrations" (we didn't stop laughing for at least two hours straight) tried to flash back to college by playing "Cheers to the Governor" (we were terrible!) and we went to a great local restaurant our Airbnb host recommend in Woodstock called “Cocina” (see my review on it here

Monday, we were very low key as we had to check out in the afternoon. We made a big breakfast with eggs, fruit, cheese and crackers, played some more games (clearly we like games) and then had to pack up and leave.

My tips for anyone doing a girls weekend getaway would be:

-Not buying as much food as you think you need. We had to unfortunately throw some out since it wouldn't survive the car ride home.

-Prepare and check out the weather before you go and while you are there.

-Have lots of games on hand if you don't expect to do exploring.

-Keep the phones and tv's off. It was so nice to be present with each other and not deep into our phones. (except for taking photos of how gorgeous the house was!) Our house also had no cable so we could not even be tempted!
