Making The Best Of Being Home

IMG_91564.jpg

Well guys it’s here. The Coronavirus has arrived. Which means we are all living in our own personal isolation cabins. (Any Parent Trap fans here?)

But this time doesn’t have to be wasted and sad. I always love a good excuse for cute lounge wear! And we can use this time to focus on ourselves, others (by staying inside) and our homes! So lets get to the good stuff…some fun ideas while we are living inside.

1. Focus on you!
What kind of self care do you feel your life is lacking? Is it needing more time to meditate? Or more time to relax? For me it’s sleeping better and taking more time to relax.

And I have to say it…there is really no time like the present. With just the time you normally spend commuting to and from work you could use on your self care! If your like me and need to relax more, I suggest trying a bath bomb from my favorite company Old Whaling Co. You will feel relaxed in no time.

2. Try out a new recipe
Well a lot of cooking is going to be done while we are staying inside. So why not use this time to discover something new you love to cook and to eat.

If your looking for a new recipe, I always head right to Pinterest. And there you can check out my Eat, Drink and Be Merry page. I have a ton of recipes I’ve tried and tons I still need to! Check it out and try something new!

3. When in doubt, TV show it out
Hey…were still gonna let ourself have lazy days. So for when those arise or when you finish your current show, I thought I would share a few I have really enjoyed.

1. Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
2. Succession
3. Schitt’s Creek
4. New Girl
5. Home Town (I’m obsessed with home renovation shows)

And incase your reallyyyy wild like me and my roommates, you will watch many rom coms from the early 2000s. I promise you will be entertained by frosted tips alone for hours.

4. Do the closet clean out challenge
I started this task today and while its a big one, its going to feel SO good when done. I’ve done this many times before and can share some advice.
1. Don’t put lot of pressure on yourself. If you wanna keep that dress, keep it. Just reevaluate it in 3 months. 2. ThreadUp is a quick and easy way to get rid of your clothes and make a little cash. Emphasis on little. For bigger ticket items use Poshmark. 3. Try to have fun with it so you don’t get bored easily.

5. Get your at home work out on
If your like me, you prefer the standard gym or love a good class. I also am the biggest fan of Rumble. And while I am truly missing hitting the bag, we need to stay home. BUT for the time being Rumble is doing live classes once a day on their IG story!

Along with Rumble, Blink and Planet Fitness are hosting free classes on their Facebook page. And 305 Dance Fitness is hosting classes on Youtube twice a day. Looks like we’ve got no excuses not to work out!

6. Do the one thing you never get around to
Doesn’t matter if it’s as small as reorganize a drawer to as big as redoing your bathroom. Finally do one thing you keep talking about but never get around to.

For me, it’s whitening my teeth! I have had the kit for so long but never get around to it. But there not excuse when WFH not to have the whitener on 30 minutes between meetings. You got this!

This is going to a rough time, but we really are all in this together. Stay in to save lives and get things done in your home! xoxo
